Today was a public holiday. It was Royal Brunei Armed Forces day or Bruneians called it 'Askar Melayu Brunei' (Royal Brunei Malay Regiment). It has been renamed to 'Angkatan Bersenjata Diraja Brunei' (Royal Brunei Armed Forces). As the name indicates, Chinese Bruneians will not be a part of RBAF. Not complaining though. Should Brunei follow Singapore and Malaysia to have NS, Kayden doesn't have to go. Haha.
Papa suggested to go Tasik to check out. We heard a lot about Tasik. Apparently Sultan frequents there. So we went. At 6.15am. The car park was already 3/4 full. Tasik looks so different from my memory. It's a mixture of Botanic Garden and Bukit Timah. We climbed the slope. Manageable not as steep and long as Bukit Timah's. I heard Brunei has many more hills steeper than Bukit Timah. Argh. As it was a recee, we climbed once only and walked around Tasik. Nice landscaping. Enjoyed the sound of the waterfall. Air was fresh.
